Reflections on an ‘exploring social transitions’ group run for service users assigned male at birth at a gender identity clinic

In this paper we will reflect on an ‘exploring social transitions’ group, which was run for the first time for service users assigned male at birth. The group aimed to allow service users to explore their gender identity in a safe and supportive space with others who were also exploring their gender identity. The peer support aspect of the group was particularly important in terms of validating a range of gender identities and expressions that may not conform to dominant narratives seen in the media.
