IoT Based Automated Solar Irrigation System Using MQTT Protocol In Charandeep Chakaria
Agriculture represents a significant index in the evaluation of rural areas of Bangladesh. In order to increase the productivity of crops, a smart irrigation system is needed. Using GSM and IoT technologies, the proposed system makes the agricultural cultivation process more automated. The IoT technology makes the irrigation system capable of monitoring the field and taking the decision to irrigate automatically. The power generated from the solar PV system is the main power source of the proposed system. The sensor is installed on the agricultural field which is frequently sensing the water level. Without visiting the agricultural field, farmers can get information about the water level. When low moisture is detected, then motor is turned on and when moisture is normal then motor is turned off. After that, it sends data to GSM module sim900A which gets information about the motor in the farmer’s cellular phone. To transmit and receive the sensor information, Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) system is used in the project. By detecting the status of Soil Moisture Content, GSM module controls the water pump status and displays the condition of Soil Moisture Content through a server or mobile application.
