The structural confirmation has been carried out by the single crystal X-ray diffraction study of {[1-benzyl-2-(phenylazo)imidazolium][ReO<sub>4</sub><sup>−</sup>]<img>H<sub>2</sub>O}, <strong>2a</strong>.
