Stanisław Iwankiewicz, who became its Chairman. On 12th December 1981, the 1st Conference of the Section was held in Wrocław, laryngeal cancer was the topic. During its 40th anniversary, the Oncology Section organized 3 conferences and 17 symposia, bringing pride to the entire Society, and promoted the latest scientific trends in the approach to head and neck cancer.
