Relationship between Epstein-Barr virus and colorectal adenocarcinoma
Objective To study the relationship between Epstein-Barr(EB) virus and colorectal adenocarcinoma. Methods EB virus DNA was examined by two temperature polymerase chain reaction cycles from 112 biopsy tissues with different colorectal lesions. The amplified product 121 bp DNA is in EB virus Bam W zone. Results The EB virus infection postive rate of colorectal adenocarcinoma was 2.9%(2/69),and that of the control was negative. Conclusion The EB virus infection positive rate was low in colorectal carcinoma. The relationship between EB virus and colorectal carcinoma needs to be investigated further.
