PROBLEMS IN PHYSICAL MANAGEMENT IN PATIENTS WITH AN IMPLANTED CARDIAC PACEMAKER
In recent years, the number of implanted pacemakers has been increasing. The number of patients with cardiac pacemakers reporting to physiotherapy departments and referred for further treatment at spa hospitals has been increasing. There is an urgent need for popularising knowledge about this issue among physicians and physiotherapists. The paper presents examples of individual pacing modes and describes possible use of physiotherapy in the patients. Most physical therapy procedures may be performed in patients with a pacemaker, but on condition that appropriate safety principles are followed.
