Efecto de la bebida gasificada en la pared gástrica de ratas macho con gastritis inducida por ácido acetilsalicílico
Objective: To evaluate the effects caused by a prolonged consumption of carbonated beverage in rats with acetylsalicylic acid-induced gastritis. Methods: An incomplete experimental study was developed. Participants: male rats. Methods: Gastritis was induced by the daily oral administration of 300 mg/kg of acetylsalicylic acid diluted in water in the control group and in carbonated beverage in the experimental group. After three weeks, histopathologic characteristics in the gastric mucosa were evaluated. Main measures outcome: Macroscopic damage was measured with the modified Lapas’s score, which results were compared with Mann Whitney U Test (p<0.05). Microscopic damage was also observed and its depth was measured, the obtained data were analized with the bilateral T test (p<0.05). Results: In both cases, the results were significant statiscally (p=0.009 y p<0.001, respectively). They showed that the gastric mucosa injury caused in the experimental group was more severe than in the control group. Conclusion: The prolonged consumption of carbonated beverage has an aggraviating effect in the gastric mucosa of rats with acetylsalicylic acid-induced gastritis.
