The patient was given an intensive physical therapy program of strengthening and conditioning in anticipation of coupling to the external prosthesis. A custom prosthesis was fabricated based on the Plie’ 2.0 microprocessor knee system. The patient was then successfully trained on use and care of the prosthesis for ambulation without any complications.
