Territórios em disputa: Conflitos pela posse e uso da terra do aldeamento de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios

This articule discusses the formation and dynamics of na Indian village Gueren in Barra do Rio de Contas (territory of the former captaincy of Ilheus, the coast of Bahia, current city of Itacare), in the first half of the 18 century. The study will be done from the perspective of the right land and conflicts related to the diferente interests of indians, sttlers, and missionaries tenants representatives of the College of Bahia, legitimate holder allotment of Camamu, where ir formed part of the village and the villege. The main sources are a set of documents related to lansd conflicts occurring on that territory, from which identified the socila actors, their demands and their justifications, anchored in the law and custos on possession and owner ship of the land in the portuguese.
