The content falls into three blocks. Firstly, attention is focused on the legal nature of renaissance contracts which were essential for the origin of artworks, and the basic principles of these contracts. The second part describes the workings of the renaissance artistic competition, focusing on the congruency of some of its aspects with modern tendering processes. The pivotal third part examines the contracts themselves, their form and content.
