Posibles mejoras para paliar el hambre mediante el Banco de Alimentos de Mendoza

Background

The Foundation mission is to alleviate the food basic needs of social attending the nourishment, particularly children; through the procurement donors to contribute the necessary goods suitable for consumption, but that are not marketable.

The objective is perform a global diagnosis of the Mendoza Food Bank Foundation of Argentine to analyze optimization possibilities.

Method

A global diagnosis has been performed, introducing management's tools in order to locate the causes of problems and the solution. It was analyzed the logistic of Foundation. It was suggested improvement for this situation.

Results

Even though the Foundation's activity is very valuable on account of its goals. One of the Foundation major weaknesses lies in the lack of external communication. So, in spite of having a very good relationship with the media, it is an aspect that has not been sufficiently emphasized by the Foundation, partly because of the lack of human resources. The scarce number of partners and donors is another weak spot caused by the lack of knowledge and/or interest in the part of industries and the society at large.

Conclusions

From the analysis of this research a series of ideas are proposed for improving the current situation of the Foundation.
