The increased understanding of the mechanisms of progressive castration resistant prostate cancer has translated into an increasing pipeline of novel therapies such as vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, bone-targeted drugs, antisense oligonucleotides, anti-angiogenic drugs, small molecule receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors and more specific targets of the androgen receptor.
