The Many Endings of Malory's Morte: The Experience of an Early Audience

Abstract:Imagining an oral performance of Malory's work in the late fifteenth century offers a perspective on the professional work of modern scholars. In particular, the idea of endings must be radically different for an audience listening to the Morte read aloud.
