The study was based on an interbehavioral approach, specifically on Contingential Analysis, and considered a constructional strategy that advises the study of the behaviors of the individuals who met their objectives. Semi-structured interviews were held with 33 individuals who reduced their weight and BMI and were able to maintain this achievement for more than six months. The data were categorized according to Contingential Analysis. The results showed that most of the participants changed the way they ate, including eating healthier and eliminating unhealthy foods, and consistently exercised. The most relevant factors appear to have been motives, effects and skills.
