However, the recent victory of Social Convergence in presidential election in Chile lends credence to his stand and arguments. Still, the main contribution of the book lies in raising some fundamental issues confronting contemporary world society and making a heartfelt argument for the revival of the humanities, assigning them an essential role in ethical theorization. The book also advocates for bringing together theory and praxis for a more progressive politics. Though the book makes for smooth reading, unencumbered by too many notes and references, it may disappoint the reader who is looking for well-developed arguments.
