This leads us to ask ourselves whether there is a single concept of digitalization or the digital transformation of the firm can vary depending on sales orientation. To answer our problem statement and research questions, we used a systematic literature review (SLR) and bibliometric analysis (BA) of digitalization to identify the most relevant articles on the subject. After analyzing a set of 1316 articles extracted from Scopus, EBSCO, PROQUEST, and the Web of Science databases, we found that the process of digitalization of a company should be studied differently depending on its underlying sector or activity.
