It is associated with structural cardiac anomalies, structural vascular abnormalities, pulmonary artery hypertension, vasculitis and infection. In some cases, it can also be idiopathic. Clinical presentation may vary in different patients and are nonspecific. Treatment is usually surgical intervention once diagnosed.
