Our approach to bedside care of our ICU service has required abbreviation for the sake of efficiency in the face of more than a doubling of our census. Our approach to rounding is opinion-based. We’ve been forced to cut corners where we can in order to survive. Our hospital uses the Abbott ID-Now® rapid point-of -are test for screening all COVID-19-asymptomatic patients admitted to our hospital, but due to its low sensitivity in hospitalized patients (1).
