Pharmacologic therapy target components thought to be involved in the pathogenesis of this disease process including insulin resistance, oxidative stress, inflammation, lipid metabolism, and fibrosis are reviewed in this paper. Issues of patient safety and quality of care will also be considered. As of 1st April 2019, Hepatic Medicine: Evidence and Research will no longer consider meta-analyses for publication.
