The paper explores features of the functioning of German paremias in the texts of modern Russian and Ukrainian online media. The study is based on the broad interpretation of paremia proposed by modern paremiologists, according to which it includes not only proverbs and sayings, but also many other similar linguistic units, for example, aphorisms, maxims, slogans, perverbs (anti-proverbs), winged phrases from movies, etc.
