Abstract:This article, "A Narrow Tale," is a creative response to Poe's work. A short story masquerading as a scholarly article with footnotes, "A Narrow Tale" purports to account for the artistic "failure" of Poe's short story "The Premature Burial" with recently unearthed biographical evidence.
