Aproximación á colocación dos clíticos en galego: variación e cambio nunha comarca rural

This work analyses the placement of clitics in Galician. The study corpus comprises responses to a questionnaire and the transcription of several hours of semi-structured interviews. The informants are from three different age groups and live in a rural district in inland Galicia. The data collected has been studied from the point of view of linguistic variation in order to identify the tendencies towards linguistic change observable through the inter-generational comparison (change in apparent time). The study focuses solely on variation, examining cases where the clitic appears. As a minimum, these are found in two positions: proclitic in relation to the verb (e.g., non o facer ‘don’t do it’) or enclitic in relation to the verb (e.g., non facelo ). It also studies the order of clitics in pronominal sequences and those contexts in which a word (or words) may appear between the clitic and the verb, i.e., the interpolation of clitics (e.g., hai tempo que te non vexo vs. hai tempo que non te vexo ‘I haven't seen for a long time’).
