The ovarian torsion of a teratoma is a rare cause of acute abdominal pain. Puerperium is a period in which the uterine ligament laxity predisposes to the ovarian torsion. The clinical presentation of an ovarian torsion and other disorders associated with the puerperium, is quite similar. We should pay special attention to postpartum women with acute abdominal pain. Imaging techniques are essential in the diagnosis of this disease.
