Successful conservative management of priapism in a child with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Priapism is a secondary manifestation of systemic diseases. It is an uncommon presentation in children even in sickle cell disease, which accounts for more than 60% of the cases. Acute leukemia and chronic myeloid leukemia rarely present with priapism, especially in children. If untreated promptly, priapism may cause irreversible erectile dysfunction; therefore, it needs urgent intervention to restore its function. We report a case of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in a child who presented with priapism.
