Lugar de saída e lugar de chegada: uma análise dos fluxos migratórios em uma comunidade rural no litoral norte do estado da Bahia
The aim of this work is to understand how the rural community Curralinho, located in Mata de Sao Joao – North Coast of Bahia, uses migratory movement as a means of social reproduction, identifying the motivations of migrant individuals and the meanings ascribed to this movement for their families and their group. The analysis was based on the influence of State interventions, carried out since 1970, which aimed to promote local economic and touristic development. Methodologically, it was based on qualitative analysis, using oral history, open response interviews and participant observation. It is concluded that the restructuring of migratory flows marked this community as a place of arrival and a place of departure, marking the differences in identity between the “inside” and the “outside”, strengthening the feeling of belonging and impelling structural changes in the socioeconomic and cultural order.
