Introduction: Special Issue: Reproduction, Contraception, and Obstetrics in Modern Mexico
This Special Issue elucidates how Mexican obstetricians, mothers, feminists, scientists, and politicians understood the intersections of reproduction and birth control with the politics of national identity and modernization over the course of a century. Each article investigates these changes within a global context, given that Mexican women and men working in and advocating for reproductive health participated in transnational networks that mobilized concerns about pronatalism, eugenics, sexuality

期刊介绍: Journal of Women"s History is the first journal devoted exclusively to the international field of women"s history. It does not attempt to impose one feminist "line" but recognizes the multiple perspectives captured by the term "feminisms." Its guiding principle is a belief that the divide between "women"s history" and "gender history" can be, and is, bridged by work on women that is sensitive to the particular historical constructions of gender that shape and are shaped by women"s experience.
