摘要
利用光学、扫描和透射电子显微镜描述了从中国海南岛热带红树林沉积物中分离出的三种底栖Gyrosigma物种:G.centropunctatum sp.nov.、G.dongzhaiense sp.nov..和G.orbitum Thaler et Kaczmarska。
Morphology of three benthic diatoms from a tropical mangrove in Hainan Island, China: Gyrosigma centropunctatum sp. nov., G. dongzhaiense sp. nov. and G. orbitum Thaler et Kaczmarska
Three benthic Gyrosigma species isolated from sediments of a tropical mangrove in Hainan Island, China, are described using light, scanning and transmission electron microscopy: G. centropunctatum sp. nov., G. dongzhaiense sp. nov. and G. orbitum Thaler et Kaczmarska. Gyrosigma centropunctatum is a tube-dwelling species possessing a unique row of pores on either side of the central area. Gyrosigma dongzhaiense differs from congeners by a combination of small cell size, linear-sigmoid outline, and higher stria density. Gyrosigma orbitum is another tube-dwelling species, which possesses two remarkable oval pits on the external central area. This study expands our knowledge of the marine species diversity and distribution of Gyrosigma in the tropical Western Pacific. We discuss the taxonomic significance of tubes in the species identification of Gyrosigma.

Accounts of Chemical Research presents short, concise and critical articles offering easy-to-read overviews of basic research and applications in all areas of chemistry and biochemistry. These short reviews focus on research from the author’s own laboratory and are designed to teach the reader about a research project. In addition, Accounts of Chemical Research publishes commentaries that give an informed opinion on a current research problem. Special Issues online are devoted to a single topic of unusual activity and significance.
Accounts of Chemical Research replaces the traditional article abstract with an article "Conspectus." These entries synopsize the research affording the reader a closer look at the content and significance of an article. Through this provision of a more detailed description of the article contents, the Conspectus enhances the article's discoverability by search engines and the exposure for the research.
