EnglishThe aim of this article is to characterise the connection function of a group of secondary students on the basis of a set of connectors utilised in a re-narration assignment. The sample was formed by 15 third and fourth grade Chilean secondary school students attending the daytime schedule at a subsidised school in the municipality of Florida, Biobio region. The results revealed that stories, in most cases, had starting and closing textual markers, had a limited set of connectors and had an excessive use of the ‘and’ connector.
