As a result, the monotypic species Nomuraelmis amamiensis Satô, 1964 was transferred to the genus Stenelmis and the combination Stenelmis amamiensis (Satô, 1964) was made. However, this name was preoccupied by Stenelmis amamiensis Nomura, 1957 (now Ordobrevia amamiensis).
