Self-objectification, in which people see themselves as an object observed by others, is one of the factors predicting body shape dissatisfaction. This study hypothesized that there is a correlation between each dimension of self-objectification with body shape dissatisfaction in adolescent Instagram users. This study involved celebrities, sports, or models. The data were collected using online questionnaires, including the Objectified Body Consciousness Scale (OBCS) and Body Dissatisfaction Scale (BDS). Spearman’s correlation coefficient was applied to analyze data. The results showed that there is a positive correlation of self-objectification dimensions, i.e., body surveillance, internalizing cultural view and body shame, with body shape dissatisfaction. Meanwhile, there is no correlation between control belief and body shape dissatisfaction.
