This includes erythropoiesis, leukopoiesis and thrombopoiesis. Thus, hematologic disorders first affect the bone marrow and secondarily the blood.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Bone marrow changes can be sensitively detected using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and often represent the initial manifestation of the underlying disease.
