Image fusion during treatment and follow-up assure highly accurate staging procedures and interventional planning.</p><p><strong>Novel aspects: </strong>Review on the standards in ablation techniques for the treatment of liver tumors. Update on different ablation techniques, indications, and contraindications for percutaneous liver tumor treatment.
