Based on the discussion it is evident that there is a great need for further improving our knowledge of the underlying mechanisms, course and outcomes of recovery following AKI. We believe there is a great need for developing tools for assessing likelihood of renal recovery, differentiating recovery from progression and identifying therapeutic targets for enhancing recovery from AKI.
