The PC-3B1 cells retain a bone homing phenotype after long term propagation in tissue culture and exhibit progressive bone lesions within 3 weeks following intracardiac injection. Comparative transcription signatures of PC-3 and PC-3B1 cells were determined using a cancer specific microarray and confirmed by RT-PCR analysis.
