Maternal aldosterone levels were lower in both study groups in comparison with the healthy controls. Elevated serum angiotensin-converting enzyme activity in preeclamptic patients without IUGR was found to be higher in comparison with the healthy controls and with the preeclamptic patients with IUGR.
