A significantly higher rate of activated neutrophils was observed in ALL as compared with AML (median: 42.97% vs. 10.64%). Non-leukemic hospitalized (n =3) and healthy (n = 3) control cases showed a median rate of 3.32% activated neutrophils in PB. Electron microscopic studies on the occurrence of activated neutrophils in peripheral blood of children with acute leukemias.
