Sequence analysis of a total of 3653 bp, revealed a 1914 bp ORF encoding for a 637-amino acid polypeptide that exhibits all the characteristic signatures of the cytoplasmic members of the HSP70 family. The ORF is not interrupted by introns and its 5'-flanking region contains five putative heat shock elements (HSEs), both indicating for an inducible hsp70 gene.
