Within clinical photography, colour reproduction has always been a contentious issue. With the development of new technologies, the variables affecting colour reproduction have changed and photographers have altered practices, moving away from the realm of film to digital photographic imaging systems. In order to standardize the output of digital clinical images, the author researched, and successfully implemented, the GretagMacbeth EYE-ONE Pro colour management system. This system, which is maintained on a monthly basis, has ensured a colour-consistent, reliable and efficient workflow throughout the digital clinical set-up.
