Current all-ceramic systems are state-of-the-art with regard to esthetics and function, but are limited in use to single unit restorations. Recently, an all-ceramic lithium disilicate-fluorapatite ceramic system was introduced (IPS Empress 2, Ivoclar North America, Amherst, NY), that allows multiple unit restorations to be fabricated and cemented using adhesive or traditional cementation techniques.
