Forty-six patients with various malignancies refractory to standard chemotherapy were treated with VP-16-213 using a weekly schedule. Only one patient responded to this regimen. perivenous infiltration of VP-16-213 resulted in a soft-tissue ulceration; this side effect has not been reported before.
