Ehrlich ascites tumor cells adapted to serial cultivation in vitro in media with increased NaCl content (“high-salt”-tolerant cells) exhibit — in comparison with cells cultivated either in isotonic media or intraperitoneally in mice (in vivo) — an increased rate of cellular oxygen consumption.
