IGF-1 presents significant potential as a therapeutic target for DGP due to its neuroprotective effects and its role in inhibiting smooth muscle cell apoptosis. By promoting the survival and regeneration of interstitial cells of Cajal and reducing inflammation, IGF-1 could enhance gastrointestinal regulation, thereby improving gastric motility and alleviating DGP symptoms. Although IGF-1 has not yet been utilized as a targeted therapy for DGP, its ability to modulate key signaling pathways, such as SCF/C-Kit, PI3K/AKT, and ERK/MAPK, suggests promising therapeutic avenues.
