Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Adaptation of the Feeling Safe During Surgery Scale.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the validity and reliability of the Turkish adaptation of the Feeling Safe During Surgery Scale.

Design: This study was methodological and descriptive.

Methods: This study used data collected from a sample of 182 patients between November 2022 and December 2023. Various analytical techniques were applied, including the Index of Content Validity, Exploratory and Confirmatory Factor Analyses, Cronbach's α, test-retest reliability evaluations, and correlation analyses between individual items and total scores.

Findings: The scale's Content Validity Index was calculated as determined to be 0.980. Factor analysis revealed two subdimensions that together explained 83.475% of the variance, with model fit values indicating strong suitability. The Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.951.

Conclusions: The findings suggest that the Turkish version of the Feeling Safe During Surgery Scale is a reliable and valid tool for assessing patients' perceptions of safety in the perioperative period under regional anesthesia.
