I2-Mediated Mild Synthesis of Benzothiadiazine 1,1-Dioxide Derivatives From Aminobenzamides and Aldehydes
An environmentally benign and transition metal-free oxidative cyclization method has been developed for the one-pot synthesis of benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide derivatives, utilizing molecular iodine (I2) as the sole oxidant from commercially available aldehydes and 2-aminobenzenesulfonamides. The protocol features a wide substrate scope and simple operation, providing easy access to a range of benzothiadiazine 1,1-dioxide derivatives in moderate to good yields.
