For Christian nurses who strive to practice in accordance with the Bible, Wesley's Quadrilateral-a famous Christian methodology developed by John Wesley, founder of Methodism-can be used as a framework to evaluate a nursing theory's alignment with biblical principles. As an example, Jean Watson's Theory of Human Caring is examined through the Quadrilateral's four elements of reason, Scripture, tradition, and experience.
