The noncovalent interactions of PTC create a chiral environment for nucleophilic attack on η<sup>3</sup>-allylpalladium intermediates. Mechanistic investigations reveal that the Pd/PTC synergistic action and matched chirality are both critical for stereocontrol, while PTC primarily determines the stereoselectivity.
