Looking Into the Future of Pediatric Oxygenation Management: Challenges in Implementing Novel Monitoring Methods.

In this editorial, we use the Oxygen Reserve Index (ORI) as an example to discuss the challenges of implementing novel monitoring methods in pediatric anesthesia from both a technical and physiological angle. Challenges with implementing methods originally intended and validated for use in adults are also examined.
