Digital Twins in the Field of Nursing: A Literature Review.
Background: Digital twin technology, as an emerging tool in healthcare, is gradually demonstrating significant potential for application in nursing. The concept of a digital twin originates from the mapping between virtual models and physical entities, which enables real-time monitoring and analysis of patients' health status, providing accurate support for nursing care.
Methods: This review comprehensively examined the advances in the use of digital twin technology in nursing, analyzed the current state of development in this field, and highlighted the advantages and limitations of digital twin technology in nursing practice.
Results: Digital twin technology has significant advantages in the nursing field, such as disease monitoring, health management, precision nutrition intervention, risk prediction, home care support, and decision support. However, there are also shortcomings in the current application process, including difficulties in technical implementation and data security risks.
Discussion: Digital twin technology has broad application prospects in the nursing field and can provide effective support and guidance for nursing practice. However, to better promote its application, there is an urgent need to address technical and ethical issues to facilitate the comprehensive development of this technology.
