Once released from the retraction fiber, the migrasome transforms into an extracellular vesicle and plays important roles in cell communication, development, angiogenesis, and disease. To date, the biogenesis, regulation of formation, cargo transportation, and physiological functions of migrasomes remain largely unknown.
