Recent updates to the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association (ACC/AHA) and European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery/The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (EACTS/STS) guidelines provide refined criteria for intervention, integrating genetic risks, body-size adjustments, and advanced imaging protocols. This review examines these guidelines, focusing on surgical indications, threshold rationales, and morphological and genetic factors influencing dissection risk.
